The A wing of the Pauls Stradins Clinical University Hospital in Riga is set to cost €30.7m more than originally expected. The announcement, which was made hospital board member Janis Komisars, came at a meeting with the Saeima Public Revision and Audit Committee. The project was initially to cost €91m, but will now require extra funding in order to implemented according to Komisars. According to Health Ministry, the reasons for the additional costs are justified and it's requested the Finance Ministry make available the required additional funds. However, the Finance Ministry claims not to have received enough information yet to assess if the additional costs are justified.
