New €5.5m container terminal underway in Belgrade

Construction broke ground on a new container terminal with two new tracks, totaling 2.4 km, at the Belgrade-Ranzirna railway station in the capital’s Makis neighborhood. The investment is valued at €5.5m. The Serbian government is covering the cost of the project. Work is expected to take 270 days. The project includes the dismantling of eight shunt tracks, totaling 6.5km. Three railway crossings will also be constructed as well an access road and a weighing container.
