NEPI’s plans to acquired the remaining stake in the Mega Mall project have hit a roadblock. It wrote in a press release that its offer had not been accepted by Erste Bank, which helped Real4You finance the project. Real4You owns a 30-percent stake in the Bucharest shopping center, while NEPI controls a 70-percent stake. In order for NEPI to acquire the remaining 30-percent stake, the financing bank must approve the transaction, according to local news reports. Mega Mall covers 70,000 sqm and is situated on the site of the former Electroaparataj factory in the city’s Pantelimon district. Martin Slabbert, CEO of NEPI, said the company is also in talks to acquire the Promenada shopping center, which is also located in Bucharest.
