Nectar establishes new organic apple orchard

Nectar, the Serbian beverage company based in Backa Palanka, has opened its biggest organic apple orchard in the country. It's located in southern Serbia in Vladicin Han."Today, we are proud to open the largest plantations of organic apples in Serbia on 45 hectares, and we plan to plant all 114 hectares in the next four years. We expect that the first yield will produce up to 500 tons of the best varieties of organic apple," said General Manager Nectar group Mihailo Jankovic. The apples will be used for baby food Frutek production, organic and squeezed juices. This year the company will hire 100 people for harvesting the apples. So far, Nectar has invested €15m in Vladicin Han. Nectar was established in 1998 and currently employs 5,500 people at six factories.
