MTU Aero Engines AG will open a new plant in Serbia, near Belgrade. The airplane engine producer is building the new plant in Nova Pazova near the main highway. Production at the new plant, which is expected to have a capacity of 400,000 working hours per year should get underway in early 2022. The country is pushing to create a national aviation cluster and a new training center will be opened in October. MTU signed an agreement on its investment plans with the Serbian government in May, clearing the way for the construction of the new plant.
