Neum, Bosnia's only town on the Adriatic coast, will be connected with the other parts via expressway within 18 months, thanks in part to a €173m loan provided by the World Bank, the EIB and the EBRD. The portion of the road connecting Stari Neum and Babin dol was completed recently, from where a new tunnel is to be built near the town of Ostrovac. Work is already underway on additional tunnels needed to complete the route, including a 975 meter one under the Zaba mountain in southern Bosnia. Work is also set to start soon on a section from Drenovac to Stolovo.
