Moldova's public debt reaches €2.7bn in July

The public debt of Moldova has risen 2.1 percent since the beginning of the year to €2.7bn, according the country's Ministry of Finance. The domestic public debt component of the figure rose 0.8 percent over that time, while its share of the public debt fell from 44.3 percent to 43.8 percent. The external debt portion grew 3.2 percent. Taken as a percentage of GDP, public debt fell from 27.1 percent at the end of 2018 to 25.6 percent in July. The Ministry of Finance noted that 17.5 percent of the public debt was payable within one year.
