The Serbian based MK Group is in the midst of a €5m worth of investments in Istria, Croatia. The company has already completed more than €3m of work on the Kempinski Hotel Adriatic and it will be pumping another €2m into new investments in 2020 to improve its tourist assets in the country. The Kempinski is part of the Skipper Resort complex in Savudrija that MK Group acquired in 2017.
"Istria offers great potential for tourism development," said Kai Behrens, General Manager of Kempinski Hotel Adriatic in Savudrija. Last year, the company put €3m into renovations of the Kempinski and its facilities. MK Group owns or has stakes in 14 hotels in Serbia, Slovenia, Croatia and Montenegro, Portoroz Airport and a golf course in Savudrija.
