Mixed results in Vilnius housing market in H1 2018

According to the Lithuanian State Enterprise Centre of Register 0.2 percent fewer apartments and 0.3 percent fewer private homes were sold in Vilnius in the first half of 2018, compared to the same period in 2017. On average 2668 apartments and 820 private homes were sold in the Lithuanian capital each month during the first six months of the year. However, in May a total of 4128 transactions were completed, the second highest number of sales since 2007. The same period also saw a mixed picture when it comes to apartment prices, with a 0.3 percent fall in the price of new apartments, but a 1.6 percent rise in the price of old apartments.
