MB Holding opened a geothermal power plant in Ciglena near Bjelovar. The Turkish company invested €43.7m in the project, 68 percent of which went toward services and equipment produced in Croatia. This is the first geothermal power plant in Croatia and the largest in continental Europe. It is expected to power about 29,000 households. Environment and Energy Minister Tomislav Coric and MB Holding CEO Muharrem Balat officially opened the plant.
