Maxima Bulgaria opened a new concept store in Sofia. The T Market Express covers 1,200 sqm and will be open non-stop. In addition to offering a selection of healthy and organic food, the supermarket will provide free Wi-Fi and smartphone charging stations. Maxima invested €1m in the location. This is the Lithuanian retail chain’s sixth store opening in 2018 on the local market, with two more planned for Novi Iskar and Aytos by the end of the year. The company’s Bulgarian network will include 74 stores in 36 cities. Maxima is planning to open between seven and 10 stores in 2019 as well as the first self-checkout kiosk in Sofia’s Musagenica district.
