Dallas-based Mill Creek Residential Trust has started construction on the new Modera at Mill Creek, a mixed-use development in downtown Orlando. The 22-story tower will feature 350 apartments, 35,000 sqf of commercial space, a six-story parking garage and the new home for the 90-year-old University Club of Orlando in downtown. The project is located at the corner of East Central Boulevard and Rosalind Avenue. Mill Creek Residential’s related UC Orlando Central LLC spent $6.5 million in July to buy the 1.25-acre site from the University Club of Orlando. Mill Creek Residential’s in-house contracting firm, MCRT South Florida Construction LLC, is the project's general contractor.

Todd Bleakley, vice president of development in North Florida for Mill Creek Residential said that the planning process has resulted in the forging of useful relationships with city official and members of the university's club. "These relationships have allowed us to begin developing a community that fits the specific needs of the Club, the city and our future residents."
