French consulting company Lazard will help lead the selection process of finding a strategic partner for Serbia’s Komercijalna Bank. The Serbian Ministry of Finance announced last year that it intended to sell its majority holding in the bank. The state has a 41.7-percent share, while EBRD controls 24.43 percent and IFC Fund owns the remaining 10.15 percent. Komercijalna Bank has 202 branches around Serbia and employs 2,700 people. Lazard will prepare a detailed market analysis as well as different privatization models, strategies and sale options.
