The largest solar power plant in Europe is currently under construction in Birska Gora near Ulcinj in southern Montenegro. The investment is valued at around €200m. Roughly 226 are expected to be employed at the 150 MW solar plant. A consortium made up of Montenegro’s electric company EPCG, Finland’s FORTUM and Germany’s WPD will oversee the construction. The Montenegrin government is focused on encouraging companies to invest in renewable energy, according to Minister of Economy Dragica Sekulic.
