Komerční banka will start paying out claims of creditors of bankrupt Sberbank CZ through its branches and online. In all cases, the payout will be cashless and the money will be sent to a bank account in the Czech Republic, exclusively in Czech crowns, announced Komerční banka. Creditors, of which there are more than 15,000, should receive about CZK 57 billion.

The online entry of the account number for the payment of the money will be available from 09:00 today on the website of Komerční banka (KB). Only Sberbank's creditors, i.e. citizens of the Czech Republic entitled to a total payout up to a maximum of CZK 100,000, can apply online for payout account numbers. The payment will be made in CZK and can only be made to an account held in the Czech Republic. It will be possible to use the KB Key or a bank identity (BankID) to log in.

Individuals can visit any branch of Komerční banka to receive the payment. Legal entities must visit Komerční banka's corporate centres or can contact their corporate banker directly for payment.

For payment of creditors' claims against Sberbank CZ, it is not possible to use a correspondence request for payment, i.e. it is not possible to send the request by post to the address of KB or to a data box.

The Prague City Court declared bankruptcy on Sberbank CZ at the end of August last year after the Czech National Bank finally revoked the bank's banking licence at the beginning of May. The CNB initiated the steps to revoke the licence on 28 February 2022. The reason for this was the deterioration of Sberbank CZ's situation due to the outflow of deposits following the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
