Knauf Insulation is planning to increase production at its stone mineral wool factory in Surdulica, southern Serbia, by 20 percent this year. The German company estimates its output will exceed 55,000 tons per year. Knauf started operating in Serbia in 2005, following the privatization of the Vunizol mineral wool plant. As of 2005, the company has invested €30m in the country and currently employs 130 people.
