Kirkland & Ellis expands at 601 Lexington Ave. NYC HQ

The world’s third-largest law firm, Kirkland & Ellis, has taken on an extra 120,000 square feet of office space at the former Citigroup Center. The firm will now have a total of 520,000 sqf in the 59-story Midtown office tower at 601 Lexington Avenue. The law firm signed an early renewal in 2015 for 400,000 square feet running through 2039. Founded in 1909, Chicago-based Kirkland & Ellis had revenues of $2.6 billion last year. The building's owner, Boston Properties, is currently renovating the property, which last year was designated as the city’s youngest landmark.
