Construction started on a large irrigation and drainage system for the Macva region in Central Serbia. The first subsystem, CS N6, will have a 62 km canal that will help irrigate the region’s agricultural land. The project is being financed by the Abu Dhabi Development Fund. Costs are expected to reach €4.1m for this part of the project, which will include 17 pumping stations. Construction should take two years. Works are being carried out by a consortium of local companies led by Masinkop Sabac.
