The number of categorized hotel facilities in Poland has increased by more than 30 percent since 2012, according to Walter Herz. There were 2,635 hotels in the country in July 2019, with three-star facilities making up almost half of the total. Poland had 418 four-star hotels in the middle of last year. This category has seen the largest growth in recent years and enriched the market offer to the greatest extent. Their number has almost doubled in Poland since 2012. By comparison, there are only 76 properties in the five-star category. “The structure of hotel supply in Poland confirms that our market is still based mainly on economy properties, and the purchasing power of Polish society is crucial for the development of the sector,” said Andrzej Szymczyk, associate director of investment and hospitality at Walter Herz.
