The International Monetary Fund raised its 2019 economic growth forecast for Hungary to 4.6 percent. In April, the IMF had predicted 3.6-percent growth for the year. GDP growth is expected to slow in 2020 to 3.3 percent. Inflation, meanwhile, will average 3.4 percent for 2019 and 2020. Unemployment is expected to drop to 3.5 percent in 2019 and to 3.4 percent in 2020, according to the fund’s most recent World Economic Outlook report. The IMF also reported that the Hungarian real estate market is strong, particularly in Budapest.
