Hungary’s construction sector grew by 22.3% in 2018

The Hungarian construction sector grew by 17.5 percent y-o-y in December, according to the Central Statistical Office. Output in the building segment was up by 14.8 percent, while the civil engineering segment reported 21.9-percent growth. Construction output for the whole of 2018 increased by 22.3 percent, with the building segment increasing by 16 percent and civil engineering work jumping by 31.4 percent, according to the recently published data.
