Henry Boot’s development branch, Henry Boot Developments, has won a development agreement with the City council of Aberdeen to construct a new conference and exhibition center. The new center is set to have a 12,500 capacity performance site, exhibition halls, an energy center, 2,500 parking space, and a four-star, 200 bed hotel that will be operated under the Hilton Hotels brand. The city council has invested GBP 333m into the development and received detailed planning permission in Q4 2015. The main contractor for the project is Robertson Construction Group, who have begun work on the site. The development is expected to be completed by the first half of 2019.

According Henry Boot Developments, there is an additional 74,322 sqm of space that they wish to add another 150 bed hotel. Plans are underway to have the hotel operated under the Aloft brand, however, such plans are conditional on the company receiving planning permission, which the developer is expecting later this year.
