HBIS to break ground on industrial park in eastern Serbia in 2019

HBIS is planning to break ground on an industrial park in Smederevo, eastern Serbia, next year. The development will go up in two phases between 2019 and 2022. The industrial park will target companies that produce equipment for renewable energy, electronic goods, car parts and building materials. HBIS Group Serbia Iron & Steel is a subsidiary of China’s Hebei Iron & Steel Group. In 2016, the Chinese group bought a steel mill in Smederevo for €46m, and HBIS took over the management.
