FINEP has unveiled plans to build a new mixed-use zone on a 68,000 sqm plot of land located west of the Opatov metro station. The Czech developer will be building over 400 apartments along with 68,000 sqm of offices and 8,400 sqm of public functions and services. "The heart of the new center will be a 3,000 sqm square," said director Tomáš Pardubický. "We believe this square will become a meeting place for residents, for farmers markets, cultural and public events." Plans include underground parking for nearly 1,400 automobiles which will be available for public use during weekends and holidays. One-third of the parking places will be equipped to charge electric cars, with energy to be supplied in part from solar panels.
