Empiric Student Property has purchased Pavilion Court in Canterbury for GBP 9.2m. The property has 79 beds and a variety of apartment sizes, while on the ground floor there is a commercial unit that is currently let to Sainsbury’s. Empiric claims the property has performed well in the past and that it is fully booked through the 2015/16 academic year. With the company’s Hello Student platform being responsible for letting and managing the property, Empiric has also said the property is “already letting in line with Empiric’s expectations for 2016/2017. “

This is the first student property Empiric Student has purchased in Canterbury. Chief Executive Paul Hadaway says the investment makes sense as “Canterbury is a city with over 25,000 full-time students and two large cities, the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University, as well as the Canterbury campus of the University of Creative Arts.”
