Dura building plant in Macedonia

Dura Automotive Systems broke ground on a new manufacturing plant in Macedonia. The US company placed the cornerstone at the site in the Skopje Free Trade Zone 2. Dura will produce lightweight aluminum exterior trim and roof systems at the new facility. The initial value of the investment is estimated at €18m. Completion of the 16,000 sqm facility is planned for summer 2019. Dura is intends to employ about 500 people at the plant over the next decade, with investment costs expected to climb to €38m. This will be the company’s 37th facility on the global market and its 16th in Europe. It employs more than 9,400 people in 14 countries.
