The new owner of the port Novi Sad in northern Serbia is DP World from the United Arab Emirates. The Serbian Minister for Transport Zorana Mihaljovic said that the company has pledged to invest €30m in the Danube river port. It's to be biggest ever investment in river transport in Serbia, which has led to promises for government and municipal support. This investment is important since by 2021 the Danube and Sava rivers are to be connected to the pan-European transport Corridor 10. A final sales contract worth €7.99m for Novi Sad Port is to be signed on May 6. DP World is a global operator of ports that's active in 41 countries and employing more than 35,000 people.
