The city of Brno has lost its direct air connection to Munich, following the collapse of the British airline Flybmi. The company cut back on its service to the Bavarian town last year, citing a lack of labor. It used this year's hot button word, Brexit, to explain its current troubles, saying that uncertainty over the UK's future in Europe had brought it down. The bad news caps off an otherwise great year for the airport, which handled over a half million passengers last year for the first time since 2014. Its biggest source of passengers come from charter flights. Over 107,000 people flew to Greece from Brno last year, with the second most common destination being Bulgaria (62,000).
