The City of Prague has approved an agreement with the owners of land it needs for the construction of the Nemocnice Krč metro station, the third stop from Pankrác on the new Metro D line. The land owner had been blocking construction on the site, but has agreed to allow the city to build on its land in return for CZK 10.1m per year in rent until the end of 2038. The city also agreed to lift a construction ban on the land, which will allow the land owner to build offices and flats on the site. Until now, Prague seemed to have been hoping to win access to the land through the courts. But with initial work on the new metro line already underway, the risk of losing the case became too great. "The content of the agreement is the maximum possible compromise," wrote the city.
