If you were wondering why filling out your taxes in the Czech Republic seems so difficult, a new study suggests you're not alone. The country's tax code has been rated as the 15th most complicated in the world, coming out ahead of countries such as Vietnam, Tanzania and Albania. BDO released an index following a study of tax returns around the world, which found that the EU leader when it comes to simplicity is Estonia. Luxembourg made BDO's top ten list, along with Latvia, The Netherlands and Bulgaria. BDO noted that one of the surprise results was that Ireland, often considered a tax haven, managed just 6th in the European Union, writes Novinky.cz. The study did not rate the amount companies have to hand over to the government, but rather the taxation legislation process and the difficulty of submitting tax returns.
