Czech public bus transport operator ČSAD is pushing forward with plans to build an office project next to Prague’s central bus terminal in Florenc-Prague 8. The Institute for Planning and Development (IPR) and Prague 1 administrators have withdrawn their appeal against the project’s planning permit. ČSAD, which modified its design for Florenc Gate slightly to comply with the views of IPR and Prague 1, can now take steps to secure a construction permit. Penta Investments also withdrew its appeal. The financial group hoped it might reach an agreement with ČSAD to buy the site it needs to build its Central Business District project designed by Zaha Hadid for the Florenc area. Penta included the site in its project, even though the land belonged to ČSAD, arguing that acquisition negotiations were underway. Penta’s development director, Petr Palička, still hopes ČSAD will sell the site in the end, as it did with its previous projects in Pankrác-Prague 4 and Prague 6, writes Hospodářské noviny. Redesigning part of the Zaha Hadid project would be a last resort.
