Czech Airlines (ČSA) is cancelling service between Bratislava and Košice as of January as well as its connections between Prague and Ostrava. However, the current route between Prague and Košice will be maintained, according to the airline's spokesman Daniel Šabík. He said the company doesn't have enough of the correct type of planes for these routes available. ČSA has used a trio of ATR 42s for the flights, according to the Czech Press Agency, but these are leased aircraft that will soon be returned. Using larger planes wouldn't make sense, said the spokesman, because not enough passengers use the flights as it is.
