The Croatian government will cease providing subsidies to companies to get them through the coronavirus crisis, but it's making an exception for the tourism, transport and catering sectors. As of June, only businesses in these sectors will be able to collect HRK 4,000 per employee, but that's only on condition that their turnover fell by at least 50 percent. To date, the state has so far paid HRK 3.5 billion in subsidies for the previous two months, and this third tranche will arrive in June. Government data suggests that hotels and restaurants are bringing in between 30 and 40 percent of last year's turnover.
