Croatia and Bosnia have agreed to pay for the construction of a bridge across the Sava river in an investment estimated to be worth €23.5m. The bridge across river Sava will extend from Okucani to the Croatian-Bosnian border. Both countries will cover the costs equally and the work is to be carried about by a consortium comprising the Bosnian company Integral Inženjering and Croatian companies Đuro Đaković Montaža and Zagreb-Montaža. The 462 meter bridge will be 22 meters wide and carry four lanes of traffic. It's part of an express road that should extend from the Croatian-Hungarian border across Virovitica and Okučani to the Croatian-Bosnian border. Completion is expected to take 30 months, with work to be divided into three stages.
Croatian Transport Minister Oleg Butković said the contract proved the strong relationship between Croatia and BiH and that it could plan and carry out major infrastructure projects.
