Demand for recreational real estate is growing, according to the developer Crescon, which has launched a new scheme in the Krkonoše mountains. Aldrov Apartments & Resort will be built in the village of Vitkovice near the popular Spindleruv Mlyn ski resort by 2021. The developer is betting on what it claims is a growing tendency of Czechs to spend time in the country's own skiing locations, since the quality of services offered is quickly reaching the level offered in foreign destinations.

"Mountain apartments lease extremely well, which allows their owners to pay off mortgages more quickly or to continuing investing the money," says Jan Jerie, Crescon's director. He says that the luxury Aldrov apartments will receive hotel-like services including even year-round leasing. "This will be a guarantee for owners that gain an attractive return on their investment and for renters for whom there will be non-stop hotel services," he said. The project involves the construction of 12 chalets, including 8 that will offer 139 apartments ranging in size from single rooms to four-bedroom units. Two other buidlings will be set aside offering luxury hotel services, while a new bar will be built on the premises along with a climbing wall, a playground and bike and ski rental shop.
