Construction output in Hungary up 43.2% in January

The Hungarian construction volume increased by 43.2 percent y-o-y in January, according to the Central Statistical Office (KSH). Output increased by 48.4 percent for building construction and by 33.4 percent for civil engineering works. The volume of new contracts increased by 5.3 percent y-o-y in January, with building construction contracts increasing by 35 percent. Contracts for civil engineering works, however, fell by 33.5 percent, according to the KSH. Higher-value contracts were concluded for residential buildings, hotels and industrial buildings.
