The Camp David fashion chain run by Jens Bechkauser's firm Beck International has collapsed, according to E15, leaving behind CZK 5m in debts. The same fate has been met by the businessman's company Rasaco in Slovakia. Camp David stores could be found in Černý Most, Letňany and Chodov, according to the paper. Beckhauser blamed slow sales, high rents in shopping centers and the contractual fines built into rental agreements for ending a lease early. The German is a notorious figure in the Czech Republic, as one of his other business lines involved pushing gullible consumers (typically pensioners) into purchases of overpriced goods of questionable quality.
