Cameratta Companies purchased more than 2,000 acres on Corkscrew Road in Lee County, Florida. Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed. Cameratta intends to build up to 2,400 single-family homes on the land, which is located 6 miles east of Interstate 75. Plans for Verdana Village are currently under review by Lee County officials. Pending approval, offsite construction will begin within nine to 12 months, with onsite development expected to begin in 18 months.

“We are excited to close on this transaction that completes our acquisition of the entire 2,138 acres we will need to continue our successful working relationship with our builder partners Pulte Homes and Lennar for Verdana Village,” said Dominic Cameratta CFO of Cameratta.
