The Bulgarian Investment Agency certified €409m worth of investments in 2018. Some of the projects have already broken ground, while others are expected to start later this year, adding some 2,500 new jobs to the local labor market. Within the private sector, more than 100,000 new jobs were created over the last 10 years. “A significant part of them are conscientious employers who continue to develop today and who do not forget that in order to have sustainability you have to invest in society as well,” Deputy Economic Minister Alexander Manolev said recently at the 16th Annual Corporate Responsibility Awards, organized by the Bulgarian Business Leaders Forum. “More initiatives are needed to focus on successful companies in Bulgaria, because they have a number of reasons to be proud of their achievements.”
