Bulgaria’s construction output slowed to 3.7 percent in 2018. However, market analysts at GlobalData are predicting the sector will grow on average by 4.4 percent over the next several years, driven by infrastructure construction. The project pipeline in Bulgaria currently stands at $34.4bn, according to GlobalData. “Bulgaria’s construction industry is expected to be driven by the government’s efforts to develop the country’s transport infrastructure and residential market,” said Danny Richards, lead economist at GlobalData.
“The pipeline, which includes all projects from pre-planning to execution, is relatively balanced, with 50.1 percent of the pipeline value being in projects in the pre-planning and planning stages as of April 2019.”
