Brno's city council has joined an expanding group of politicians that support moving the city's main train station to the "Dolni" station. However, they are making the construction of a quasi-metro for the city a condition for their support. City planners envision placing normal train rails along the current route that trains use to access the main train station, but underground. The decision puts Brno's city council in line with a strategy adopted by the South Moravian region and the Minister of Transportation. "Moving the station is the most advantageous," said Transport Minister Daniel Ťok. "Whichever variant we end up supporting, I'd like to guarantee you that the state will find the money for it."
