Bourgogne Gastronomie Kft opened new plant in Kisvarda, northeast of Budapest. The French company invested HUF 6.5bn to develop this 12,000 sqm facility, which will process snails as well as frozen pasta. The family-run company will buy snails from Romania, Belarus Lithuania and Hungary, which only allows a maximum of 2,000 tons of live snails to be purchased between April and June, according to news outlets.
