BNB: FDI in Bulgaria fall by 34.4% y-o-y

Foreign direct investments (FDI) in Bulgaria have decreased by 34.4 percent y-o-y to €517.3m in the first five month of 2016. The FDI volume between January and May represented 1.1 percent of GDP forecasted for 2016, according to data published by the Bulgarian National Bank.

Real estate investments by non-residents totaled €16.5m for the period, up from €15.5m the previous year. The largest inflow of real estate investments came from Russia (€2.9m) and Switzerland (€2.1m).
