Southern Bohemia gets less media attention than the Czech capital, but there are major industrial investments underway in the region that will cause its economic importance to grow. Mladá fronta Dnes writes that the Budvar brewery in České Budějovice is nearing the end of a CZK 2bn investment that will increase its production capacity to 2 million hectoliters. Work on a third production line began earlier this year along with investments into transportation and handling equipment. The project has been underway in 2015 after Budvar found it had reached peak capacity. The Madeta milk products company is another company making CZK 400 million worth of investments into its production plants in Plané nad Lužnice, Pelhřimov and Český Krumlov. Finally, writes MfD, Robert Bosch in České Budějovice is making plans for an investment of hundreds of millions into its development center and into its production capacity.
