Aupark in Bratislava is to be expanded. Its owner Unibail-Rodamco has filed documentation for a construction permit, according to the Slovak server Trend. The new portion of the shopping center should expand the volume of shopping space by 7,000 sqm. Expansion is to take place along the southwest edge of the shopping mall next to its main entrance. The creation of expanded retail space will result in less parking space, something that has generally been in short supply at Aupark. By contrast, retail space in Bratislava is hardly in short supply. Following the completion of Bory Mall over two years ago, many thought the city was done with the construction of new shopping centers. But HB Reavis is now building yet another, Stanice Nivy, which is connected to the main bus station.
