The French retailer Auchan will launch in April the first fully automated store on the Romanian market, under the Auchan GO brand, announced Tiberiu Dănetiu, Auchan Retail Romania Marketing Director, and Teodor Șerban, Auchan Retail Romania Efficiency and Projects Director.

"No cash registers, no baskets, no cash - the only thing you need is the Auchan app and a bank card enrolled in the app", explained Tiberiu Dănetiu.

"The space is equipped with more than 70 cameras and 3,000 sensors, because it is about the 100 percent digitization of a physical store. With these technologies, we will end up having data about the interaction of consumers with each individual product, transactional data, data about the journey to the customers. All this will allow us to understand the customer's behavior and journey, and this will help to make decisions in real time. We end up having data per second related to the customer's behavior in the store," added Teodor Şerban. The Auchan GO concept was launched last year in France, being extended to Poland in the same year.
