Croatian state-owned operator Hrvatske Ceste-HC is planning to invest €3bn in road projects across the country this year, while Croatian motorway company Hrvatske Autoceste-HAC intends to pour an additional €84.7m into similar projects. HC will use €127m in EU funding to realize its project goals for the year. The remaining €86.4m will come out of the operator’s own funds for road construction. Maintenance costs are expected to reach €57m. HAC will invest €33m in construction and €30m in road maintenance. The project pipeline includes the DC 403 motorway around Rijeka, the Okucani-Gradiska junction and a bridge over the Sava River.
