Apartment sales decline in Bosnia and Herzegovina

A total of 246 new apartments were sold during the first quarter of 2020 a 5.2 percent drop from the average monthly total last year, and 8.2 percent less than in the Q1 of 2019. The Federal Bureau of Statistics reports that of the 246 new apartments sold, 88 were sold in Sarajevo and 158 in other municipalities. At the same time, there was a decline in the price of new apartments sold.

The average price of new apartments sold in the first quarter of 2020 compared to the average price in 2019 was 0.9 percent lower, and it was 1.2 percent off the price from Q1 a year ago. The average price of new apartments is KM 1,328 per sqm in Sarajevo, significantly higher than in the country's other towns where the average is just KM 1,080 per sqm.
