The Tuzla airport in northeastern Bosnia will open a new terminal in May as it completes the €3m investment. All interior works will be completed by the end of April on the terminal, which will be connected directly with the existing terminal. The new facility will be capable of servicing two Airbus A320 at the same time. Another gate is to be added to the 4,915 sqm terminal in the near future. The new terminal will double the number of passengers the airport can handle to 800 per hour, raising its annual capacity to 700,000 passengers. This figure could be reached almost immediately, as current estimates put the number of passengers at the airport at 624,000. Construction of a 900 sqm atrium for shops and services is planned next at Tuzla airport.
