AFI Palace Cotroceni is installing a mobile proximity marketing platform called ZONIZ that uses beacons which will allow brands to interact with visitors to the center. “With the help of this app, visitors can locate their favorite store, read real time information concerning sales and existing offers, or even undertake certain actions that make their shopping experience more enjoyable. Thus, the new technology will not replace the in-store experience but improve it. Even more so, in the near future, we will have the opportunity to generate relevant statistics regarding ongoing campaigns and adapt our strategy accordingly,” said David Hay, CEO AFI Europe Romania.

Developed by Global e Business Solution (GEBS) through €1.5m investment, the Zoniz platform is based on the Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) technology, as well as radio transmitters (beacons), which allow personalized information to be sent to smartphone users, according to their preferences and location. The app was produced in Romania and was inspired by Apple technology launched two years ago.
